We have an opportunity for an experienced Tractor Driver to join our team at Hurkledale Farm, on a full-time and permanent basis.
Working as part of a team which is responsible for all aspects of seasonal and year-round tractor work, we’re looking for an experienced individual who understands the job behind the machine and has an interest in crops, land and the wider farming operation.
Day-to-day duties will include:
- Operating tractors and other agricultural machinery.
- Cultivation, fertilising, grass and maize silage and other field operations as required throughout the year.
- Monitoring crops and fields throughout the growing season and reporting any issues or requirements.
- Working alongside, and where appropriate, coordinating agricultural contractors.
- Ensuring that tractors and other machinery are routinely maintained and any defects reported or fixed without delay.
- Carrying out other general farm duties as required.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has proven tractor driving experience with a strong understanding and knowledge of machinery.
- Holds a full driving licence.
- Can hit the ground running.
- Has a telehandler licence (preferred but not essential).
- Has good communication skills.
- Can work independently and as part of a team.
- Is reliable and punctual with a good work ethic.
- Is willing to be flexible in their approach to work, including being able to adapt to longer working hours during busy periods.
- Has basic vehicle and machinery maintenance knowledge, skills or experience (preferred but not essential).
