Test Automation Specialist in Newcastle upon Tyne

A leading international professional services organisation is seeking an experienced Application Testing Analyst to join its Finance Systems team.

This role will be responsible for quality assurance and testing activities across critical finance and business applications, ensuring system changes, upgrades, integrations and enhancements are thoroughly validated prior to release.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, design and execute manual testing activities, including functional, system integration, regression and end-to-end testing.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business stakeholders.
• Identify, document, track and assist in resolving defects and system issues.
• Create and maintain test plans, test scripts, test cases and test reports.
• Deliver quality assurance throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Work closely with internal technology teams, business users and third-party suppliers.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and system enhancement projects.

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in software testing, QA or application testing roles.
• Experience testing finance, ERP, practice management or business-critical systems.
• Strong SQL skills and familiarity with test management tools.
• Knowledge of system integrations and software development lifecycles.
• Experience working within professional services, legal, financial services or similar environments would be advantageous.
• Understanding of finance processes such as general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting or reporting is desirable.
• Exposure to Agile and/or Waterfall delivery methodologies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
