With continued growth, we are seeking a skilled and proactive Underground Water Leak Detection Engineer to join and strengthen our national operations.
The Role
As an Underground Water Leak Detection Engineer, you will be responsible for locating, investigating, and supporting repairs of underground water leaks across a variety of commercial and infrastructure sites throughout the UK. Key duties include:
- Conducting site surveys, identifying meter and valve locations
- Performing leak detection using methods such as:
- Pipe MICs
- Ground MICs
- Gas tracer techniques
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience working with water mains, service pipes, and valves
- Valid and recognised industry-standard registration such as EUSR, CSCS, or CPCS card
- Competency in utility detection using CAT & Genny equipment
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience driving diggers (preferably with NPORS/CPCS certification)
- Working knowledge of HSG47 and safe excavation techniques
- Basic civils and reinstatement skills
- Comfortable operating a range of powered tools
- Willingness to work away from home during the working week
Desirable Qualifications (Training Provided Where Needed)
- Blue Water Hygiene Card (EUSR-approved)
- SHEA Water Card or other CSCS-affiliated utility card
- Butt Fusion / Electrofusion welding experience (EUSR-approved)
- NRSWA (Streetworks) Operative card
- EUSR NG Persons Training
- SPA UKPIA (Petrol Retail – Forecourt Contractors)
- Experience with acoustic or tracer-based leak detection systems
- Familiarity with WIAPS or other recognised utility certification schemes
