McLaughlin Harvey has an exciting opportunity for a Sustainability Manager to join our growing teams to drive and manage Sustainable activities on our construction projects. In 2019 McLaughlin Harvey committed to becoming net zero in our own operations by 2030. We are working with our supply chain to do the same by 2040 and going beyond net zero to become carbon negative by 2045.
The Sustainability Manager will report to the Head of Environmental however will work in collaboration with all areas of the business and work closely with the Environmental, Pre-Construction and Operational teams. The Sustainability Manager will possess an understanding of the client, design team and McLaughlin Harvey sustainability and carbon reduction targets.
The main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Work closely with Design Managers, consultants, and the supply chain to influence design decisions, deliver Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs), and ensure sustainability and carbon commitments are met across pre-construction and delivery.
- Embed sustainability and whole-life carbon objectives into the design development process.
- Lead and manage as built Whole Life Carbon Assessments in line with industry guidance such as EN 15978, and PAS 2080 and RICS methodology.
- Undertake and/or manage and coordinate Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) at key design stages.
