Are you confident supporting carers to navigate challenges with empathy and practical advice? Do you have the drive to work independently in the community while building meaningful relationships? At Making Space, we support individuals and communities to live well, and we are now looking for a Carer Assessment Worker to join our Cheshire East Carers Service.

This is a community-based, part-time position (30 hours per week) covering Macclesfield and surrounding areas, or the south of Cheshire East. You will work closely with unpaid carers, offering one-to-one support, guidance and assessments within their homes and local community settings. A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out carer assessments within home and community environments
  • Provide clear advice, guidance and information tailored to individual needs
  • Support carers to develop practical coping strategies
  • Offer emotional support and signposting to relevant services
  • Share information relating to mental health and available local support
  • Maintain accurate records and work in line with safeguarding practices
