The Role
Are you experienced in sausage manufacturing or factory work? Do you have a keen eye for detail and a commitment to high-quality production? Join our growing team, a well-established manufacturer dedicated to producing top-quality products for our customers. Our company is looking for a Sausage Manufacturer to contribute to our successful operations. In this role, you will play a key part in our production process. You will be involved in making sausages from start to finish, ensuring top quality and adhering to food safety regulations. You’ll also support day-to-day factory operations to maintain efficiency. Note: Flexibility will be required - The role is a Monday - Friday working week (Food Production is mainly nightshift/early starts around 4am-12noon).

Key Responsibilities:
- Sausage Production:
- Prepare and mix ingredients, including meat, spices, and casings.
- Operate sausage-making machines (stuffing, linking, and cutting).
- Ensure sausages meet production standards for size and quality.
- Monitor chilling processes and maintain food safety standards.
- Pack sausages and other products according to packaging guidelines.
- Perform quality control checks on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
- Deliver sausages in a timely and safe manner to customers ranging from Independent shops to national chains.
- Factory Operative Duties:
- Assist with the general operations of the factory, ensuring cleanliness and organisation.
- Operate additional machinery and tools during production.
- Support colleagues across various departments, including packaging, storage, and shipping.
- Handle manual tasks such as lifting, loading, and unloading raw materials and products.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe environment.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.
- Help with stock control and inventory management.

Our company has been providing high-quality produce since 1889, starting from a small shop in Kings Heath we now operate a manufacturing unit – only 2 miles from our site back then! Now in the 5th generation of Lashford, our tradition and story live on.

- Experience in food manufacturing or factory work, particularly in meat production, is preferred.
- Full UK Clean driving licence.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
