How to prepare for a job interview at DFS

✨Know Your Customs Stuff

Make sure you brush up on customs regulations and compliance processes before the interview. Familiarise yourself with commodity codes, TSS declarations, and any recent regulatory changes that could impact the role. This will show your potential employer that you're not just interested in the job, but that you’re also knowledgeable about the field.

✨Showcase Your Analytical Skills

Be prepared to discuss specific examples of how you've identified risks or gaps in compliance in your previous roles. Use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to structure your answers. This will help demonstrate your strong analytical skills and your ability to drive improvements in customs processes.

✨Communicate Effectively

Since the role involves liaising with various stakeholders, practice articulating your thoughts clearly and confidently. Think about how you would explain complex customs processes to someone without a background in compliance. Good communication is key, so be ready to showcase this skill during your interview.

✨Prepare Questions for Them

Interviews are a two-way street! Prepare thoughtful questions about the company culture, the sustainability initiatives they’re involved in, or how they support employee development. This shows that you’re genuinely interested in the role and the company, and it gives you a chance to assess if it’s the right fit for you too.
