Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation and delivery of the Risk strategy across the Group, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Take ownership of identifying, capturing, and reporting principal risks and material controls, working closely with the SLT and GLT to assess and mitigate these risks.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, including leveraging external knowledge to identify potential threats, vulnerabilities, and impacts.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices, providing expert guidance on risk governance frameworks.
- Champion the embedding of a strong risk culture across the Group, taking ownership of training and development needs and supporting their delivery.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the Group, developing a deep understanding of key business areas to provide valuable risk mitigation support.
- Provide strategic advice to the leadership team on risk and emerging risks, assessing potential threats and opportunities to inform business decisions.
- Identify, monitor, and manage emerging risks and trends, ensuring they are captured, reported, and managed in accordance with the risk management framework.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture within the risk team, working closely with peers to achieve shared goals.
- Collaborate with the legal and regulatory compliance teams to define and analyse risks, ensuring all potential threats are addressed.
- Ensure the Group Board receives appropriate management information (MI) and documentation to ensure compliance with the UK Corporate Governance Code, especially related to risk management and material controls.
