Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Full Time. 39 hours per week.

Shifts: 4 day working week (Monday to Thursday)

Salary: You will be paid a training rate until you are up to speed (negotiable dependent on experience). Then you will be paid piecework (so you will be rewarded for the more you produce). On target earnings of +£16ph + benefits package.

In your new role as a Fabric Sorter at DFS you’ll play a key role in the manufacturing process of sofas. This position involves selecting and organising fabrics for sofa production, ensuring that the correct materials are used for each piece. As a Fabric Sorter, attention to detail is crucial to maintain the quality and consistency of the final product. You’ll be working in a fast-paced environment, on your feet and on the go, working as part of a team.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Ensuring all cut fabric is sorted logically into orders ready to be sewn
  • When sorting all cut fabric, ensure this is done in load order and sent to the Sewing section in a timely manner
  • Be up to date with all product specifications and requirements
  • When sorting check the cut fabric to ensure all parts are included
  • Be able to check the quality of the cut fabric to ensure it is ready to be sewn
  • Check for any missing parts and raise through the correct channels when required to ensure this is completed
  • Ensure the safe handling of customer orders
  • Ensure that the Company’s Health and Safety policies are rigorously applied and complied with
  • Compliance with the Company’s policies and directives
  • Ensuring the factory is kept tidy and nothing can cause obstruction for colleagues
