What you\’ll be doing Lead the implementation and delivery of the Risk strategy across the Group, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Take ownership of identifying, capturing, and reporting principal risks and material controls, working closely with the SLT and GLT to assess and mitigate these risks.
Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, including leveraging external knowledge to identify potential threats, vulnerabilities, and impacts.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices, providing expert guidance on risk governance frameworks.
Champion the embedding of a strong risk culture across the Group, taking ownership of training and development needs and supporting their delivery.
Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the Group, developing a deep understanding of key business areas to provide valuable risk mitigation support.
Provide strategic advice to the leadership team on risk and emerging risks, assessing potential threats and opportunities to inform business decisions.
Identify, monitor, and manage emerging risks and trends, ensuring they are captured, reported, and managed in accordance with the risk management framework.
Foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture within the risk team, working closely with peers to achieve shared goals.
Collaborate with the legal and regulatory compliance teams to define and analyse risks, ensuring all potential threats are addressed.
Ensure the Group Board receives appropriate management information (MI) and documentation to ensure compliance with the UK Corporate Governance Code, especially related to risk management and material controls.
The role is for you if Key Requirements: Significant experience working in a Risk Partner role within a PLC business, with a deep knowledge of risk management principles and frameworks.
Ability to provide consistent advice, guidance, and training to a range of stakeholders across the Group.
Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to communicate effectively across different audiences at all levels.
Strong data analytical skills, with the ability to use data to provide visibility and actionable insights.
Commercial mindset with the ability to adopt a balanced approach to risk management, ensuring business objectives are met while mitigating risks.
Effective leadership, communication, and people skills, with the ability to foster a culture of compliance and ethical behaviour.
Proven ability to continuously review and update risk management processes to ensure alignment with the Groups culture and objectives.
Analytical mind with strong problem-solving aptitude and the ability to identify risks and opportunities.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to prepare detailed reports for the GLT and Audit Committee on key risk areas.
