DFS Composites is a leading provider of high-precision mould tools and fixtures for composite manufacturing processes. We are seeking a skilled Composite Technician with a solid background across a range of advanced composite manufacturing processes. This role is ideal for a hands-on technician who takes pride in high-quality workmanship and thrives in a precision-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manufacture composite components using hand lay up, resin infusion and pre preg techniques.
  • Prepare plugs and moulds, lay-up dry fibre reinforcements, consumables, and vacuum systems.
  • Interpret and work from engineering drawings, laminates schedules, and work instructions.
  • Ensure components meet quality, dimensional, and cosmetic standards for key customers within Aerospace and Wind Energy.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment.
  • Identify and resolve process or quality issues proactively within a project based environment.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Composite Technician, with a strong focus on infusion processes, and other advanced processing methods.
  • Good understanding of composite materials (carbon fibre, glass fibre, resins, cores).
  • Experience with vacuum systems, leak detection, and process control.
  • Ability to work accurately, consistently, and to tight tolerances.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Desirable (but not essential)

  • Experience in aerospace, marine, automotive, or motorsport composites.
  • Knowledge of health & safety standards relating to composite manufacturing.
  • Experience with tooling, mould preparation, and finishing processes.
  • Experience with electrical installation.

Experience

  • Composite: 3 years (preferred).
