The Rolex SailGP Championship is the most exciting racing on water, where anything can happen in short, adrenaline-fueled battles between national teams at iconic stadium destinations worldwide. Top athletes fly in identical high-tech F50 catamarans faster than the wind, at speeds approaching 60 mph. Founded in 2018, SailGP is one of the world’s fastest-growing sports and entertainment properties, now in its fifth season.

Summary:

This role is responsible for the end-to-end planning and delivery of SailGP’s event stadiums. Planning, procuring, scheduling and serving as the project manager for the build and delivery of the race stadiums infrastructure, operation and associated budgets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning, delivery and project management of the race stadium, working closely with the Head of Event, Infrastructure Lead and Local Production Teams.
  • Work alongside the Infrastructure Team to develop a detailed site plan for each of the race stadiums, accounting for key items including but not limited to, the fan journey, emergency planning, VIP experiences, branding opportunities, while optimizing the use of the waterfront viewing areas.
  • Plan, procure, schedule and serve as project manager for the operational delivery of the event stadium, working closely with the Infrastructure Lead.
  • Create, manage and maintain a robust project management plan for the race stadium operations.
  • Support the Finance/Procurement manager on vendor selection, ensuring strict adherence to procurement deadlines and approved budgets..
  • Work in collaboration with the Event Experience Team to support the operations and delivery of fan engagement, activations and event experiences.
  • Manage the Local Production Team communication with contractors, suppliers, and vendors to assist in the delivery of the infrastructure and equipment and race stadium operations.
  • Manage the other Race Stadium Managers to ensure consistency across the full season.
  • Coordinate with SailGP colleagues across all departments to ensure clear communication of event deliverables and deadlines.
  • Lead planning meetings across internal departments, Local Production Agency and suppliers as needed, in accordance with set meeting structure.
  • Contribute to the development of long term plans for the race stadium build and operations including the development and implantation of sustainability strategies for the region and globally.
  • Manage permits, license and consenting in collaboration with the Local Production Team.
