Designs for Lighting (www.DFL-UK.com) is looking for someone confident, curious and ready to get stuck in. We’re a specialist lighting design consultancy in Winchester, and we need a new team member to help us look after clients and keep opportunities moving.
This role is ideal for someone at the start of their career who’s looking for an employer willing to give them a chance. You don’t need to know all about lighting, sales already, we are looking for a great communicator. Bring your energy, ideas and willingness to learn, and we’ll help you build the skills.
What might you get up to?
You won’t be expected to arrive knowing how to do all of this. These are some of the things you could learn and get involved in:
- Pick up the phone and speak with clients and potential clients.
- Help prepare quotations and follow up to find out what happens next.
- Keep HubSpot up to date, so enquiries and opportunities don’t get lost in the mix. Never heard of HubSpot? No problem, Google it, then we’ll show you how we use it.
- Come up with ideas that help create business development and sales opportunities
- Help us prepare for events and come along with us to see what they are all about, generally support the sales team and make sure new projects are handed over smoothly to our technical teams.
Some days you’ll be organising details and keeping things on track. Other days you might be chatting with a client. You may even find yourself helping to create sales or Business development content for our socials. (A bit of variety is part of the fun)

The winning formula will be someone that is organised and can balance priorities with great, honest communication, working to keep prospective clients in the know.
Location: Winchester, with two office days each week on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Salary and hours: Around £25,000–£28,000, depending on skills, for a 37.5-hour week. Flexible working and a company bonus is available.
