About the role
Working 4 on 4 off shift pattern, you will be planning our transport operation across the North of Scotland, including Trunking from Glasgow, Inverness and the Western Isles. You will be responsible for:
- Planning movements for approximately 30 vehicles across Inverness & Glasgow.
- Act as point of contact for customers, with particular focus on our retail partners.
- Monitoring of consignments from collection through to delivery.
- Ensures activities are planned in line with legal compliance standards, while delivering best in class customer service.
- Contributes to vehicle maintenance procedures including vehicle rotation, preventive maintenance scheduling and fleet availability/scheduling along with the Compliance Team.
- Ensuring drivers hours (including agency staff) are accurately monitored & recorded.
- Highlight commercial opportunities to senior management as they arise.
- Flexibility to cover holiday periods throughout the year.
About you
Our ideal candidate demonstrates proficiency in problem-solving, planning, and organising, and has expertise in dry and cold chain markets. They will have advanced IT skills, particularly within the Microsoft Office suite, and have exceptional communication abilities, serving as the liaison between drivers, suppliers, colleagues, and customers. Capable of working independently and collaboratively, with a strong initiative, they hold a Transport Manager CPC (preferred but not essential). Additionally, they show adaptability and meticulous planning skills.
