Are you a seasoned, creative, and system-oriented Product Designer with a strong track record in building and maintaining design systems? Do you thrive at the intersection of UI precision and scalable component thinking – from atoms to organisms – and want to shape the future of B2B digital products?

Join our informal but ambitious Design Chapter at DFDS, where we work strategically across end-to-end user journeys, while being deeply embedded in product teams. You’ll co-own the design responsibility for key digital services in our Ferry & Terminals business – and you’ll take the lead on contributing back to strengthen the design system foundation that will enable consistency, scalability, and velocity across our B2B products.

About The Role

DFDS is Northern Europe’s largest integrated shipping and logistics company. We serve over 8,400 freight customers and six million passengers annually, operating terminals, ferries, and logistics solutions across 20+ countries.

You’ll be part of the Ferry & Terminals product team, working closely with one other Product Designer and a cross-functional team of developers, analysts, and business stakeholders. Your primary responsibility will be to establish and evolve a robust design system that aligns with our new corporate visual identity (CVI), enabling unified experiences across multiple B2B products.

You’ll also collaborate closely with our broader community of 13+ international Product and Service Designers (and one excellent UX Researcher) to ensure coherence across the design landscape at DFDS.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on contributing back to strengthen the design system foundation where you’ll contribute with new components, creating/refining existing patterns, and maintain clear documentation, all tailored to the needs of complex B2B workflows.
  • Collaborate closely with your product team, system/business analyst and counterpart Product Designer to deliver scalable and consistent designs.
  • Conduct user research to reenvision the legacy systems to improve operational excellence.
  • Ideate and iterate in close collaboration with developers, architects, and business stakeholders.
  • Produce wireframes and pixel-perfect UI designs using the design system.
  • Conduct and support user testing early in the process to validate concepts and communicate insights to relevant stakeholders at DFDS.
  • Apply data-driven decision-making and synthesize insights to guide design direction and support Product Owner and the product team.
  • Contribute to shared design ops efforts across DFDS design teams.

About You

We think the strongest teams are built on diversity and inclusivity. Contrasting opinions, varied skills and strong characters bring out the best in us all. With this in mind, we think that you as a person would be a great fit if you are a proactive self-starter, and a strong finisher, who can take the initiative and take responsibility for getting things done. You are data-driven, analytical and can see the bigger picture, but still have a great eye for detail and coherence. You are a team player who values collaboration and can give and receive constructive feedback on designs.

You will have the following qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Designer (ideally in enterprise or B2B settings).
  • Proven experience designing and implementing design systems (atoms, molecules, organisms).
  • Strong UI skills with a clear design portfolio showcasing Figma mastery.
  • Solid grasp of all accessibility standards (WCAG), complex UI (tables, forms, dashboards) and scalable interfaces.
  • Strong prioritization and collaboration skills on system decisions where you help prioritize new components or improvements to the design system as well as the product context.
  • Proficiency in communicating design rationale clearly and confidently to stakeholders.
  • A self-starter and can cover the product end-to-end design process.
  • Has a strong grasp on qualitative and quantitative methodologies and is data-driven and data literate.
  • Bonus: Understanding and having working knowledge of React-based environments, including Storybook and Next.js as well as experience in design ops, documentation, or analytics tools is a plus.
  • Experience working in a Scrum team, and/or within a bigger international organization, would make us happy.
  • Experience with analytics tools and AIs would make us elated, but if you are tech-savvy and a quick learner, that is fine too.

About The Team

You’ll join a cross-functional team on a mission to modernize and simplify a highly complex and critical internal system focused on operational efficiency. As one of the founding members of this effort, you’ll help reimagine a legacy platform used daily by our operations teams — transforming it into a more intuitive, scalable, and user-friendly experience.

We work fast, test early, and focus on building solutions that are both impactful and easy to adopt. The team brings energy, clarity, and a strong user focus — creating space to collaborate deeply and build with purpose.
