About the role
Working nights, you’ll play a crucial role in keeping the operation running smoothly and safely, while working directly with on‑site customers throughout your shift. This is a highly customer‑facing position, where strong communication and professionalism are essential. You will be responsible for:
- Shunting trailers and a variety of different vehicles around the site safely and efficiently
- Positioning vehicles for loading and unloading according to customer requirements
- Working closely with customer teams on‑site, acting as a key overnight contact
- Carrying out trailer and unit checks, reporting defects promptly
- Keeping the yard organised and maintaining safe working practices
- Supporting warehouse teams as needed to ensure continuous workflow
- Completing paperwork accurately and maintaining clear communication
About you
You’ll need a Class 1 licence and be confident manoeuvring trailers in tight spaces. As this role is very customer‑facing, you’ll bring a professional, friendly, and approachable attitude, with the ability to build positive working relationships during night operations. You’ll be reliable, safety‑conscious, and comfortable working independently while still keeping communication open with the wider team.
