About the role

Just got your Class 1 Licence? DFDS Killingholme is opening the door to new HGV drivers looking to build a long-term career in transport and logistics. We are offering full support for newly qualified drivers and are committed to helping you succeed from day one with hands-on training, real-world driving opportunities, and a pathway to a stable and rewarding career.

Alongside training, the role will involve:

  • Safely operating Class 1 vehicles to transport goods to and from the Port of Immingham.
  • Ensuring timely and efficient delivery in line with DFDS schedules and customer expectations.
  • Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects or maintenance needs promptly.
  • Accurately completing all relevant paperwork and using on-board systems as required.
  • Adhering to all road safety regulations, tachograph laws, and company policies.
  • Communicating effectively with port staff, planners, and the DFDS transport team.
  • Maintaining a professional and courteous attitude at all times, representing DFDS standards.

About you

The ideal candidate will be a newly qualified or experienced Class 1 (C+E) driver who holds a valid CPC qualification and a Digital Tachograph (DIGI) card. They should demonstrate a strong work ethic, a commitment to safety, and a willingness to develop their skills within a busy logistics operation. Reliability, punctuality, and confidence in handling articulated vehicles are essential, along with a sound understanding of transport regulations. Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude are key, as the role involves working closely with DFDS teams and port personnel. A flexible approach to working hours and a desire to grow within a leading logistics company will help the candidate succeed in this role.
