About the role

Reporting to the Transport Manager, you’ll play a key role in the planning and coordination of daily transport operations, ensuring deliveries are completed efficiently, compliantly, and to a high standard. Using our Velocity TMS system, you’ll work closely with drivers, warehouse teams, and UK/export teams to optimise routes and resources.

You will be responsible:

  • Planning daily transport operations using Velocity TMS, optimising fleet and subcontractor utilisation
  • Coordinating with drivers, warehouse teams, and export operations to meet delivery requirements
  • Managing both own fleet and subcontractors, including freight forwarding activity
  • Ensuring compliance with driver hours, regulations, and transport best practices
  • Responding to operational issues and adapting plans in real time
  • Maintaining strong communication across internal teams and external partners
  • Building and maintaining relationships with drivers, customers, and suppliers

About you

You’ll have experience in transport planning within a fast‑moving logistics environment, with a good understanding of driver hours, compliance, and operational planning. Experience managing both fleet and subcontractors, along with freight forwarding exposure, would be highly beneficial. A CPC (National/International) qualification is desirable.

You’ll be confident using Microsoft Office systems and able to adapt quickly to transport management systems such as Velocity. Strong organisational skills, initiative, and a proactive mindset are essential, as you’ll be working in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing environment.
