About the roleAs a key member of the Freight Customer Services team, you will provide excellent support and information to customers while ensuring smooth operational processes. Your role involves handling a variety of cargo types, liaising with internal teams and external authorities, and contributing to both operational efficiency and business growth. You will play a vital part in maintaining high service standards and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Please note – this role is a Fixed Term Contract for 12 months.
You will be responsible for:- Providing general customer support, addressing enquiries and offering accurate information regarding shipments and services.
- Handling hazardous cargo, abnormal loads, and customs-related queries, ensuring all paperwork and compliance requirements are met.
- Compiling and analysing reports to monitor service levels and identify areas for improvement.
- Generating sales leads and supporting business development initiatives.
- Communicating regularly with customers, port authorities, and government agencies, while assisting Operations and Freight Customer Services teams as needed.
You are a customer-focused and detail-oriented professional with excellent communication and organizational skills. While experience in the shipping industry and knowledge of hazardous cargo is advantageous, it is not essential, as you will be supported to develop this expertise to a high standard. You are confident using computers, with a basic understanding of Word and Excel, and can thrive both independently and as part of a team. You remain calm under pressure, take initiative when needed, and always maintain a professional and positive approach.
