About The Role
We’re looking for a Class 1 HGV Driver to join our Special Cargo team and this role is anything but ordinary. You’ll be transporting unique and oversized loads, from Viking ships and turf for football pitches to caravans. If it’s special cargo, we’re the team that moves it.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Safely driving across the UK and occasionally further afield with specialist cargo
- Carrying out vehicle checks and making sure all equipment is secure and compliant
- Working closely with our planning and operations teams to keep deliveries on track
- Representing DFDS in a professional and friendly manner at customer sites and on the road
- Handling delivery paperwork and using onboard systems to track your journeys
- Following all road safety and load security regulations
About You
You’ll be a great fit for this role if you’ve got a Class 1 licence, a Driver CPC, and a DIGI card. If you’ve worked with unusual or oversized loads before, that’s a bonus, but if not, no worries, we’ll give you all the training you need.
We’re looking for someone who takes pride in doing a good job, always puts safety first, and enjoys a bit of variety in their day. You’re confident working solo, but also know how to stay connected and work well with the wider team.
