About the role

Working Monday to Friday, you’ll take a key role in supporting and developing the site’s Quality, Safety, Health & Environmental (QSHE) standards. You’ll provide hands-on support across the operation, helping the business meet legal, customer and internal compliance requirements.

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading and supporting the development, implementation and maintenance of QSHE policies, procedures and management systems
  • Conducting risk assessments, writing Safe Systems of Work (SSOW), and ensuring appropriate controls are in place
  • Investigating accidents, incidents and near misses, analysing data and supporting improvement plans
  • Performing internal safety, quality and HACCP related audits and supporting external audit activity
  • Supporting compliance with food safety, BRCGS requirements, and wider legislative obligations
  • Maintaining the Business Continuity Plan and contributing to PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) activity
  • Promoting and embedding a strong Health & Safety culture across operational teams

About you

You’ll ideally bring experience in QSHE or a similar safety focused role, with confidence in areas such as risk assessments, accident investigation and safety-system development. Experience with H&S reporting systems and strong Microsoft Office skills are essential. IOSH Managing Safely is required, and a NEBOSH General Certificate is preferred but not essential.

You’ll thrive in this role if you’re self-motivated, professional, and passionate about improving safety culture. You’ll be able to influence others at all levels, communicate clearly, and remain calm and methodical when dealing with compliance challenges. A proactive approach, strong attention to detail and the ability to coach, support and guide operational teams will set you up for success.
