About the role
As a Customer Experience Ambassador for DFDS, you will play a key role in creating memorable moments for guests of all ages across our passenger network. Bringing energy, enthusiasm, and a passion for delivering exceptional service, you will help bring the Jack & Pirate Island experience to life through engaging entertainment, interactive activities, and unforgettable customer interactions both onboard and ashore. This role will require you to work any 5 from 7 days per week, the shifts can be 7-12 hours long. Please note - The contract will be June – September.
You will be responsible for:
- Portraying Jack the Pirate and other DFDS mascots, interacting with families and children to create a fun, welcoming, and engaging atmosphere onboard and within port terminals.
- Delivering a range of organised children’s entertainment activities including themed games, storytelling, arts and crafts, face painting, and interactive experiences as part of the onboard entertainment programme.
- Supporting the Marketing and Social Media teams by participating in promotional activities, photoshoots, video content, live events, and customer engagement campaigns across the passenger network.
- Gathering guest feedback through conversations and surveys, ensuring any customer concerns or service-impacting issues are escalated promptly to the Customer Experience Manager.
- Traveling to other DFDS locations when required to support seasonal events, promotional activations, and deliver a consistent, high-quality guest experience across all sites.
About you
You are an energetic, enthusiastic, and confident individual who enjoys creating memorable experiences for guests of all ages. A natural entertainer, you feel comfortable performing, engaging with families and children, and bringing characters and experiences to life in a fun, professional, and approachable way. You take pride in delivering outstanding customer service and are passionate about creating those extra special “surprise and delight” moments for guests.
You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly and adapt your approach to different audiences and situations. Creative, proactive, and a strong team player, you thrive in a fast-paced and varied environment and are happy to support colleagues wherever needed. Previous experience within entertainment, childcare, hospitality, events, or customer service would be beneficial, but most importantly, we are looking for someone with a positive attitude, flexibility to work shifts including weekends and holidays, and a genuine passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences. Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be aged 18 or over.
