About the role
We are seeking an individual who has experience, in either a freight forwarding or customer service role within logistics. Working any 5 from 7 on 8 hour variable shift pattern, 8am-4pm; 9.30am-5.30pm and 1pm-9pm. You need to be driven by process improvements, able to work in a dynamic and fluid environment, meeting deadlines. You will be responsible for ensuring all customers receive an excellent level of service and plan customer orders to trucks via local digital portals.
- Plan groupage loads effectively to ensure customer expectations are met.
- Ensure that trucks are despatched as quickly as possible to reach market as quickly as possible
- Relationship building with customers and colleagues.
- General problem solving and solution finding for customers.
- Ensure daily invoicing and administrative tasks are completed.
- Understanding of customs procedures for exporting trailers from the UK
- Follow up customer queries for their shipments.
- Preparation of customs and sanitary documentation
Please note, this position is fully office based.
About you
We need you to be a good team player, excellent communication skills and telephone manner are a must! Knowledge of transport operations would be advantageous but not essential. This is an entry level role that does not require previous experience or related education. In addition, it is a great opportunity for an applicant who is looking at a career in exports and customs
