Do you want to play a key role in keeping a high‑performance logistics operation running safely and efficiently? Are you a hands‑on engineer who enjoys solving problems, maintaining equipment, and improving site performance? If so, you could be the newest addition to our team as a Maintenance Engineer in Larkhall.

About the role

As a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all site infrastructure across our Larkhall logistics facility. This includes refrigerated warehousing, yard assets, and office facilities. You’ll deliver both planned maintenance and rapid response repairs, helping to protect operational continuity.

You will be responsible for:

  • Delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across refrigeration systems, MHE, lighting, and building infrastructure
  • Diagnosing and resolving breakdowns quickly to minimise operational disruption
  • Supporting refrigeration systems and coordinating with external refrigeration contractors
  • Maintaining dock levellers, roller doors, bay equipment, and safety systems
  • Overseeing yard and trailer park infrastructure including lighting, barriers, and hard standing areas
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements (LOLER, PUWER, F Gas, H&S) and maintaining accurate records
  • Driving continuous improvement, managing spare parts, and working closely with operations to prioritise maintenance

About you

You’ll be a time served engineer or hold an equivalent qualification in mechanical, electrical, or multi‑skilled engineering. You’ll have strong fault‑finding ability across mechanical and electrical systems, with experience in facilities or industrial environments. Knowledge of refrigeration systems and chilled environments would be advantageous. You’ll thrive in this role if you take a proactive, safety‑first approach, identifying issues early and taking ownership to resolve them. You’ll be organised and disciplined, able to manage your workload while maintaining accurate records. Strong communication skills are key, as you’ll work closely with contractors, warehouse teams, and management. A calm, solutions focused mindset will help you succeed, especially when responding to urgent issues in a live operation.

We think the strongest teams are built on diversity and inclusivity. Contrasting opinions, varied skills and strong characters bring out the best in us all. And we cannot wait for you to join.
