As Design Lead, you are responsible for leading the visual identity of the company’s brands, events, and marketing materials. You will manage and mentor the Junior Designer, ensuring high-quality design output and alignment with brand guidelines. This role involves conceptualising, designing, and executing creative solutions for digital and print media, supporting event production, and enhancing audience engagement.

Competencies / Skills / Knowledge / Experience

  • Proven professional experience in graphic design, preferably within the live events or entertainment industry.
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in team leadership and management, including mentoring and workload distribution.
  • Experience with motion graphics, 3D design, or video editing is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of the design process, from brief to final execution, and all key delivery channels.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality and consistency.
  • Demonstrable experience in following and executing under design brand guidelines.
  • Experience of accurately preparing design artwork for print and understanding the print production process.
  • Experience of creating design artwork for social media and digital advertising.
  • Understanding of current design trends and music industry marketing.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute visual concepts for all DF brands across a variety of platforms to drive sales, engagement, and brand awareness.
  • Ensure all designs align with the brand guidelines.
  • Manage and mentor the design team to develop talent, foster high performance, and encourage continuous learning.
  • Manage workload distribution effectively to ensure timely project completion.
  • Collaborate with the wider DF team, freelancers, and agencies to develop creative assets for festivals and events.
  • Oversee the design process from concept to final production, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
  • Create signage, stage designs, festival merchandise, digital visuals, and other physical event branding materials, ensuring artwork is correctly prepared for print and adheres to print production standards.
  • Implement and maintain a consistent proofing process within the design team, ensuring all work is thoroughly checked before being shared with stakeholders.
  • Stay up to date with design trends, industry best practices, and new tools to keep the company’s visuals fresh and competitive.
  • Support the team with additional responsibilities as needed.
