Your New Role: Due to our current size and growth ambitions this is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is a capable leader and has a strong command of financial crime risk. As DF Capital’s Financial Crime Oversight Manager you will be responsible for assessing, measuring and monitoring the firm’s financial crime risk exposure, and providing effective and pragmatic advice and challenge for compliant management of these risks. You will be adept at engaging stakeholders, offering proportionate advice, communicating and reporting on your insights, and making the complex simple due to your command of the subject.
Key responsibilities:
- Own the design and testing of Financial Crime controls, feeding back directly to operational teams, devising and tracking appropriate action plans, and escalating issues (where required).
- Support the MLRO to maintain the financial crime framework, advising on updates to policies and procedures in line with regulatory updates and changes to the business.
- Lead reviews and updates to the Business-wide risk assessment, customer risk assessments, documentation and system-based logic and rules.
- Undertake regulatory horizon scanning of financial crime regulatory developments, assessing publications and papers from the FCA and relevant industry bodies, conducting gap analysis and briefing a variety of stakeholders up to Exec and the Board.
- Lead investigation of potential fraudulent, terrorist, or suspicious activity, the implementation of Anti Bribery and Corruption and Sanctions policies, presenting findings and supporting with external reporting.
- Own and monitor financial crime and fraud risk indicators and provide deep-dive analysis into possible issues/trends.
- Review and escalation of emerging financial crime and fraud risks.
- Provide independent advice and oversight on financial crime systems and control design, and where required, design and provide risk training to the business.
You will not have any direct reports but will act as a supporting coach for all colleagues who need to deepen or maintain their understanding of financial crime mitigation and compliance. The following skills and experience are required for this role:
- Strong ethics and standards, and are comfortable with open and direct communication, across various levels of seniority.
- An experienced financial crime professional, and can demonstrate successful, outcomes-focussed advice.
- Strong working knowledge of the Money Laundering Regulations 2017, the Joint Money Laundering Steering Group Guidance, and the FCA Financial Crime Guide.
- Experience of working in firms with diverse types of FS products, customers, channels, transactions and jurisdictions, and can make informed risk assessments of these differences.

- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change.
