We are working with a well-established healthcare business based in Newcastle that’s on a journey to modernise the systems behind how they operate. They’re now looking for a new developer to take ownership of one of their legacy C#/.NET applications - supporting it in the short term, then leading its full rebuild into a modern, cloud-based web solution.
You’ll join a small, close-knit IT team (around six people), working directly with the Head of IT. There’s no red tape or endless meetings here - just an opportunity to make decisions, shape architecture and build something properly.
What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting and maintaining an existing legacy C# application.
- Leading its redevelopment into a modern Azure-based web platform.
- Building out a new front-end framework (no stack in place yet - open to your ideas).
- Setting up CI/CD pipelines and helping modernise internal development practices.
- Working directly with clinicians and non-technical users to understand workflows and improve how technology supports care delivery.
What you’ll bring:
- 5+ years’ experience with C# and .NET (legacy and modern).
- Experience supporting older systems and modernising them.
- Familiarity with Azure Cloud and CI/CD pipelines.
- The ability to work independently - you’ll be the main developer for this project.
- Strong communication skills; comfortable gathering requirements from end users.
- Bonus points for any experience with Terraform or Figma.
If you’ve ever wanted to own a project from start to finish - understanding the business needs, defining the tech stack and delivering something cleaner, faster, and future-proof - this is your chance. You’ll get variety, autonomy and the satisfaction of seeing your work have a tangible impact on how clinicians and patients interact every day.
The team get together twice a week in the Newcastle headquarters so being local is pretty essential.
