Are you the person everyone turns to when their laptop won't cooperate? Do you enjoy being the go-to IT person in an office rather than sitting behind a screen all day? Would you rather work for a growing business where people genuinely appreciate the support you provide? I'm working with a well-established Manchester-based business looking to add an IT Support Technician to their growing internal IT team. This isn't an MSP role where you're jumping between dozens of clients every day. Instead, you'll be supporting an expanding workforce across two offices, helping colleagues resolve technical issues, maintaining hardware, supporting key systems and playing a visible role within the business.
The company has been operating successfully for over 40 years and has experienced significant growth over the last 18 months, adding more than 100 employees during that period. They now employ around 175 people across Manchester and Liverpool, with further growth planned throughout the coming year. Working alongside an experienced Infrastructure Manager and wider IT team, you'll provide a mixture of desktop support, Microsoft 365 administration, Windows Server support and basic networking troubleshooting. The role is heavily focused on hands-on support, so you'll spend most of your time on-site helping users directly rather than working remotely.
What you'll be doing:
- Providing 1st and 2nd line IT support across the business
- Supporting Windows environments and Microsoft 365
- Troubleshooting desktop, laptop, printer and hardware issues
- Assisting with Windows Server administration and support
- Supporting basic networking issues
- Taking part in upgrades, deployments and IT improvement projects
- Acting as a trusted point of contact for non-technical users
- Travelling to the Liverpool office approximately once per week
What they're looking for:
- Previous IT support experience
- Strong Microsoft 365 knowledge
- Windows Server support experience
- Basic networking knowledge
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Someone approachable, reliable and keen to help others
What's in it for you?
- Salary of £30,000 - £35,000
- Lucrative bonus scheme
- Flexible start and finish times
- Training and development support
- Long-term career progression opportunities
- A growing business with excellent staff retention
- Occasional work from home flexibility
- Manchester city centre location
