We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior People Manager to join our high-energy, high-impact People team. This is a senior role within the People function, with responsibility for managing day-to-day people operations across the full employee lifecycle and ensuring effective, compliant, and scalable people practices within a global organisation. The company operates internationally, hiring employees directly in the UK and the US, and supporting teams across other countries worldwide through Employer of Record (EOR) arrangements.
As a senior member of the People team, you will work closely with managers across the business, providing practical guidance on employee relations, performance management, and conduct matters. You will help ensure consistency, manage people risk, and support a strong culture through clear processes, robust compliance, and pragmatic decision-making.
In this role, you will take ownership of complex employee matters, oversee day-to-day HR operations, and provide coaching and oversight to more junior People team members to maintain high standards across the function. You will also support the HR Director in delivering company-wide people initiatives and ensure that operational practices run smoothly across the business.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage day-to-day people operations across the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, performance management, employee relations, and offboarding, ensuring processes run smoothly and consistently.
- Act as the primary point of escalation for complex employee relations matters, including conduct, performance, disciplinary processes, grievances, dismissals, and settlement discussions.
- Provide practical, timely advice and hands-on support to managers on people issues, helping them navigate difficult conversations and apply policies fairly and confidently.
- Apply strong working knowledge of employment law in day-to-day decision-making, identifying legal and people risk early and ensuring appropriate, compliant handling of employee issues.
- Own the implementation and ongoing management of people policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with employment law and effective application.
- Ensure consistent and compliant handling of employee changes, including promotions, role changes, salary adjustments, and terminations.
- Oversee employee benefits administration and payroll-related changes, working closely with payroll providers, Finance, and external partners to ensure accurate and timely processing, while responding to employee queries and maintaining compliance.
- Manage employee immigration and sponsorship processes, working with external employment and immigration lawyers to ensure compliant visa sponsorship, renewals, and right-to-work requirements, and advising the business on sponsorship-related risks and timelines.
- Oversee and support core HR administration and people data management, ensuring accuracy of records, contracts, and documentation.
- Identify recurring people issues and operational gaps, and implement practical improvements to processes, templates, and manager guidance.
- Partner closely with the HR Director to deliver people initiatives and improvements, translating people strategy into effective operational execution.
