At Dexory, we are transforming the warehousing and logistics industry through data intelligence. We're currently recruiting for a software engineering programme manager to join our expanding team. Offices based in Wallingford, Oxford but open to flexible hybrid set up and looking for candidates who have experience ideally within robotics, automotive, high-tech manufacturing or similar environments.
As the Engineering Programme Manager, you will lead and accelerate the end-to-end delivery of Dexory's autonomous robotics and data-intelligence programmes by instilling a high-velocity cadence across all engineering teams. You'll own planning, coordination and risk management, ensuring rapid iteration, cross-discipline alignment and production introduction of engineering features and new products. This is a highly cross-functional, process-focused and agile role with primary focus on software engineering delivery, whilst maintaining oversight of hardware integration workstreams. While not a people management position, you will be instrumental in enabling multiple teams to work effectively and deliver programmes on time and to the highest standard through data-driven accountability and objective performance measurement.
Responsibilities / Skills
- Orchestrate cross-functional programmes, maintaining clear visibility of dependencies, risks, and delivery timelines.
- Chair twice-weekly 'pit-stop' stand-ups with engineering leads to surface blockers and drive rapid decisions.
- Translate strategic objectives into sprint-based roadmaps, with clearly defined milestones every 2–4 weeks.
- Lead engineering operations metrics and programme visibility, designing comprehensive measurement frameworks that drive from data, to insight, and through to action.
- Own the engineering metrics strategy, establishing key performance indicators for sprint velocity, cycle time, deployment frequency, lead time, and quality metrics to drive operational excellence.
- Design and implement programme performance dashboards that enable data-driven decision making and objective accountability.
- Enable and coach teams to leverage data insights for improved delivery planning, risk identification, and quality outcomes.
- Own 'failure-mode' post-mortems after each deployment cycle, capturing lessons and accelerating root-cause fixes with data-backed analysis.
- Collaborate with teams to design and implement best practice processes and data structures in project management tooling, building new functionality and streamlining workflows.
- Standardise project delivery frameworks (e.g., stage-gate or agile variants).
- Identify process bottlenecks in software integration, sprint execution, and cross-team dependencies, and drive events and ownership to eliminate lead-time.
- Proven track record in engineering project or programme management, ideally within robotics, automotive, or high-tech manufacturing.
- Experience working in a fast environment where problems need to be solved quickly.
- Strong understanding of agile methodologies with a focus on continuous improvement and iterative delivery.
