You won’t just maintain existing systems; you’ll architect and scale the core backend services and data pipelines that power an AI platform handling critical financial workloads.
The work Architect and build scalable backend services and APIs for an AI workspace processing sensitive financial data.
Design and optimize data pipelines for large‑scale financial datasets, ensuring accuracy and high performance.
Go deep on database schemas and queries, tuning Postgre SQL for high‑throughput, low‑latency operations across distributed systems.
Partner with ML engineers to productionise complex models, integrating them seamlessly into backend systems.
Lead technical design reviews and mentor junior and mid‑level engineers, shaping the engineering culture as the platform scales.
What You Bring 7+ years of professional backend engineering experience, with a proven track record of building and scaling production systems.
Expert‑level proficiency in Python and modern web frameworks, particularly Fast API, having shipped production services.
Deep expertise in Postgre SQL, including query optimisation, indexing strategy, and performance tuning under real load.
Experience running event‑driven architectures with message brokers (e. g., Azure Service Bus, Rabbit MQ, Kafka) and task queues (e. g., Celery) at non‑trivial throughput.
Strong fundamentals in distributed systems, cloud platforms (Azure preferred), Docker/Kubernetes, and robust security practices (authn/authz, encryption, data handling).
Experience in regulated environments (SOC 2, GDPR, FCA) is a significant plus.
