Our Mission
Human time and effort is the rarest thing in the universe. The fact that so many people hate what they do for work is a disaster on so many levels. How many people live quiet lives of misery? How many generational talents do we miss due to circumstance? Dex’s mission is to close the gap between Talent & Opportunity. We believe that work, and being productive, is part of the human condition, that regardless of AI, human passion, ingenuity and a desire to do things means that work will always exist.
We are building Dex to create a future where technology helps every individual to understand their strengths, interests and unique abilities, and to connect with opportunities where they can thrive, because more people doing things they love leads to a better, happier and more productive world. We are starting by connecting the world's most ambitious software engineers with the companies that deserve them.
About the Role
The AI Startups and scaleups we work with have roles they can't fill. Not because they haven't tried, but because they have world-class hiring bars, and it’s genuinely tough. As a Talent Partner looking after our clients, you own those relationships. You take a role briefing properly, you push back when it doesn't add up, and you become the person a founder, internal talent partner or hiring manager calls before they've even decided to hire. You will also own delivery: ensuring that our clients receive an amazing experience using Dex.
In this role you will:
- Own a portfolio of client relationships end to end; brief, delivery, feedback, and everything after
- Take role briefs / kick-offs that actually hold up. Scope the role, interrogate the requirements, and tell a client when the role is really two roles, or shouldn't be hired at all
- Run the process on the client side: keep feedback fast, keep interviews moving, keep momentum from breaking
- Analyse their Dex pipelines with conviction and manage expectations so offers land
- Negotiate offers with the client. Get people over the line without either side feeling managed
- Grow accounts. Turn a single search into a relationship; more roles, more trust, more of the hiring plan
- Be the client's most useful call of the week; delivering market insights, clear pipeline reporting, honest candidate reads, and effective advice
About you
You are highly organised, compelling, smart, and driven. You're commercially sharp and comfortable holding your ground with senior people. You'd rather have the awkward conversation early than the expensive one late. You tell great stories, and you know how to engage with a wide variety of different people - such as a first-time founder, a Head of Engineering, or a VP of Talent. You're credible with technical hiring managers and you understand how to be an effective partner to your stakeholders. You know enough about software engineering to be taken seriously, and you're honest about what you don't know.
You have an excellent command of talent metrics. You know what good looks like at each stage of a funnel, and you use those numbers to diagnose and address a stalling process. You can walk a client through their own data, show them where they're losing people and why.
We're open on backgrounds. Most people who do this well have 2+ years in recruitment (agency or internal) but if you've got the raw ingredients and the drive we want to talk to you. We want people who have excelled in their current and previous roles. We are looking for someone that is incredibly motivated to build an exceptional team, solving a problem that truly matters.
Note: We know that talent can't be summed up in a few bullet points. Even if you don't match everything we've mentioned, we don't want that to be a barrier. If you're excited about what we're building, we want to hear from you.
Why this is a great opportunity
Dex represents an opportunity to join a well funded, cash generative business that works with some of the most interesting people and companies in the world. You'll be building relationships with some of the best AI startups and scaleups on the planet, and helping them hire the roles they care most about. We're growing fast and are set to more than double in headcount between the UK and US over the next 12 months. This is a team that deeply understands hiring, how difficult and how important it is; you'll have experienced talent leaders around you day to day, and a product team building tools for you specifically.
