Role Overview
You will join a 14-person engineering team within a rapidly growing company of 59. This is a genuine Product Engineer role: you own projects end-to-end, from Figma designs to MongoDB schemas to full-stack release. It's not about executing handed-down tickets; it's about challenging requirements, mentoring peers, and driving technical standards in a team where real ownership is still possible.
Responsibilities
- Ship full-stack features across React, Next.js, and TypeScript, converting Figma designs into high-quality, production-ready components.
- Design and optimise MongoDB schemas for a platform used by thousands of companies, ensuring performance and scalability.
- Own projects from initial problem definition through to deployment, including backend services on AWS with Redis-backed queues.
- Mentor junior engineers, elevate coding standards, and actively challenge product requirements to build better solutions.
Qualifications
- 3+ years building production React, Next.js, and TypeScript applications, including react-query.
- 5+ years of deep MongoDB experience: schema design, index tuning, and performance optimisation on real workloads.
- Proven ability to convert Figma designs into high-quality React components independently.
- Experience shipping systems on AWS, leveraging Redis and cloud-based queues.
- A background in fast-moving startup environments, with a track record of mentoring engineers and driving technical standards.
