You'll be the founding Data Scientist. This isn't a pure analytics role, nor is it just building dashboards. You'll own the entire data foundation: models, pipelines, and the platform itself. You'll work deep inside the product and engineering codebase, ensuring data is captured correctly at source. Your goal: make data genuinely self‑serve for every team and every AI agent. You'll set the standards for how an AI‑native company builds on its data, from the ground up.
The work
- Design, build, and own the core data models that underpin every product decision, every AI agent interaction, and every business metric.
- Embed directly within the product and engineering codebase. Ensure data is structured and captured correctly at source, not just cleaned downstream.
- Architect and implement robust data pipelines, moving critical information reliably between our systems.
- Build a genuinely self‑serve data platform. Empower product, growth, commercial, and operations teams (and our AI agents) to answer their own questions, without relying on one‑off queries.
- Define the data strategy and set the technical standards for an AI‑native company, laying the foundation for future data hires.
What You Bring
- You’ve built the end‑to‑end data foundation for a consumer product or marketplace, understanding what "good" looks like at scale.
- You are both an engineer and an analyst: capable of designing and building data infrastructure, and extracting actionable business insights from it.
- You’re comfortable diving into an existing codebase, understanding how data is emitted, and making necessary changes at the source.
- Fluency across a modern analytics stack (cloud warehouse, transformation, orchestration, BI). You have strong opinions on tooling and when to use what.
- A product and commercial mindset. You build for the platform and the decision it drives, not just the one‑off query.
