Our Mission
Human time and effort is the rarest thing in the universe. The fact that so many people hate what they do for work is a disaster on so many levels. How many people live quiet lives of misery? How many generational talents do we miss due to circumstance? Dex’s mission is to close the gap between Talent & Opportunity. We believe that work, and being productive, is part of the human condition, that regardless of AI, human passion, ingenuity and a desire to do things means that work will always exist.
We are building Dex to create a future where technology helps every individual to understand their strengths, interests and unique abilities, and to connect with opportunities where they can thrive, because more people doing things they love leads to a better, happier and more productive world. We are starting by connecting the world's most ambitious software engineers with the companies that deserve them.
This is a full-cycle commercial role with a hunting focus. You'll own deals end-to-end, finding Heads of Talent and Founders at the best technology companies, show them why Dex surfaces candidates that job boards and cold outbound never reach, and close the partnerships that grow hire after hire. You run these without a playbook handed to you because there isn't one yet. You're here to write it.
You think in pipeline and closed revenue, and you're reliable: your forecast holds, your deals stay closed, and the companies you win keep hiring through us.
What You'll Do
- Own the full cycle - take deals from first touch to signed partnership: sourcing, outbound, discovery, multi-stakeholder navigation, negotiation, and close, with no hand-holding.
- Build pipeline from scratch - run multi-channel outbound across calls, email, LinkedIn, and events; you find and qualify your own opportunities rather than wait for inbound.
- Sell the matching thesis - get deep on how Dex builds richer candidate profiles than a CV or a public profile allows, and show Heads of Talent and Founders why that produces hires that stick.
- Define ICP and territory - identify the engineering-led companies and AI startups where Dex wins, sharpen who we go after, and build the account map from the ground up.
- Close the loop with the team - relay what the market is telling you to the Founders, Product, and Talent Operations teams; leverage customer signal to improve how we sell and what we build.
- Build the commercial toolkit - messaging, CRM process, case studies, forecasting; the early infrastructure a scaling revenue team will inherit.
What We're Looking For
- Track record of independent delivery - you can own and close deals end-to-end with minimal supervision; your track record shows quota carried, hit, and beaten.
- Commercial judgment under ambiguity - you balance speed, deal quality, and long-term account value; you build structure where none exists and make the pragmatic call when a deal needs to move.
- Pipeline discipline - you source your own pipeline, forecast honestly, and treat follow-through and CRM hygiene as standard practice, not a later concern.
- Selling to technical and founder buyers — heads of talent, hiring managers, founders, and engineering leaders, where credibility matters more than a script.
- Sales tooling — CRM-native (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar) and comfortable with prospecting platforms like Apollo or Clay.
Nice to Have
- Experience selling recruiting, HR, or talent products.
- Background as an early or founding sales hire at a fast-scaling startup.
- A network across the UK tech and AI startup ecosystem.
- Comfort with agency or services-shaped commercial models, not just pure SaaS.
The Motion
Dex is an AI talent agent for technical hiring: we hold real conversations with candidates and hiring teams, build richer profiles than a CV allows, and match on fit, charging companies only when a hire actually lands. The commercial model is agency-shaped, not SaaS, so you're selling outcomes, not seats. We're a small, senior team backed by Notion Capital, a16z Speedrun, and Concept Ventures, working hybrid from London with offices opening in New York and San Francisco. We move fast, iterate directly with customers, and keep the motion clean.
What We Offer
- Above market salary — we're building a world class team and believe pay should match that ambition.
- Significant equity — we want this to be the last job you 'have' to take.
- Full private healthcare & dental — because life happens and we want to support you.
- Fertility benefits & enhanced parental support.
- Gym membership & wellness benefits.
- Claude tokens — lots and lots of Claude tokens.
- Regular socials, offsites and an annual trip.
- MacBook Pro + team kit.
- "Whatever you need" approach to tools and support.
Interview process
We move quickly and with conviction. Broadly you can expect:
- We love it when candidates have experimented with our agent, Dex. Even if you aren't an Engineer, you can get a sense of what we're building, and we love to hear your feedback.
- A 30m video call with our Internal Talent Lead; we'll share more about the team, role and business before asking questions about your experience and fit.
- Hiring Manager call: we'll share more specific context on short and medium-term objectives and ask deeper questions relative to the role requirements.
- Most roles involve a practical task to better understand how you work. Usually completed offline and reviewed by the team.
- Onsite interview loop where you'll visit the office, meet a cohort of the team, one interview centred on the task you produced, another on Dex culture and values, with a final interview with our Founder, Paddy.
