A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I am an 89-year-old woman living in the Dinas Powys area currently but I will be moving to the Barry area soon. I live with my husband and receive support from my son and daughter-in-law. I have a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s and I am housebound.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To provide me with the personal care I require and to provide my husband with some respite.
HOURS OF WORK
I am looking for a PA to cover my other PAs when they are on leave etc. Weekend work is essential as the job involves care 7 days per week.
RATES OF PAY
£12.50 per hour. Double time on bank holidays.
TASKS CAN INCLUDE
- Supporting me to shower in the morning.
- Dressing me each morning.
- Supporting me to the toilet and helping me clean up after.
- Generally supporting me with my morning and evening routines.
- Helping me to bed.
- Any reasonable domestic task if there is time.

ABOUT THE JOB
This will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period of six months will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid four-weekly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive appropriate holidays and holiday pay. This post is subject to an enhanced police check (DBS) and training may be required if identified by the employer.
