My passion is rugby and I enjoy going to watch matches in the Millennium Stadium when Wales is playing. I enjoy watching TV, going shopping, and going out for meals. I am chatty when I get to know you and offer good company. Sometimes I need some gentle encouragement to engage in an activity like cooking a meal together or going to the gym. I love any type of music and enjoy watching the music channels. In the past, I have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes which I am currently being reassessed for. PURPOSE OF JOB The purpose of the job is to support me to access the social activities that I enjoy and to support me to gain confidence when out in the community. PLACE OF WORK In and around the area of Pontyclun, Barry, Cardiff Bay. HOURS OF WORK I am looking to employ a Personal Assistant for up to 10 hours a week. The hours worked will be flexible by arrangement dependent on the activities arranged. RATE OF PAY £11.50 per hour £0.40 per mile TASKS INVOLVED To support me while out on social outings. To transport, accompany and support me to attend rugby matches. To support and accompany me on shopping trips. To accompany and support me on trips out in your car and on public transport. Any other duties to be discussed and mutually agreed. TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED Must be a driver with a full clean driving licence. A person who respects and understands the importance of my privacy and confidentiality of working in someone else’s home. Someone who is confident, mature and has patience. A person who is dependable and arrives on time. A person with a friendly, easy-going manner. Someone who is adaptable and flexible is essential. Someone who could provide extra hours on occasions. Someone who will be able to support me but not take over. Able to work independently and on their own initiative to previously agreed criteria. Someone who is able to work to instruction. Someone trustworthy, reliable and punctual. Someone with a caring and responsible attitude. Someone with experience of Mental Health. Someone with diabetic training is an advantage. ABOUT THE JOB Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly basis and appropriate holiday pay given. The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check – which will need to be carried out before employment can commence.
