I’m a 55-year-old gentleman with MS from Aberdare. I have difficulties with hand functions and mobility. I have two daughters. I enjoy rock music, going to the theatre, and watching rugby. I enjoy going out in the community and doing new activities.
PURPOSE OF JOB
I am looking to employ a Personal Assistant to access the local community and help me maintain my independence, at home and out in the community.
HOURS OF WORK
5 hours per week. Extra hours will be available to cover my other PAs' holidays and any potential sickness.
RATES OF PAY
£12.90 per hour.
TASKS INVOLVED
- Supervising me out in the community.
- Car transfers to ensure I am safe at all times.
- Assisting me during activities in the community.
- Assisting me with meals.
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
- Car driver/owner with business class insurance.
- Patient and understanding of how my condition affects me.
- Experience in the care sector desirable.
ABOUT THE JOB
Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly and appropriate holiday pay given. The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority). The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK.
