A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I am a 17 year old boy living in the Ferndale area with my mother. I have a big interest in gaming and especially enjoy Pokémon and Minecraft. I also enjoy other activities such as darts, playing pool and bowling and am looking to do more of these activities away from my family.
I have a diagnosis of Autism and other learning difficulties and can struggle to communicate especially with people a similar age to me. I can also be inappropriate at times and can seem intimidating.
I do not like being in crowded places and enjoy a routine so find it hard when plans change last minute.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
I am looking for a Male PA to take me out into the community and to take part in social activities away from my family which will help me build more relationships.
This position is advertised as \’Male only\’ as an occupational requirement under Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.
RATE(S) OF PAY
£14.50 per hour plus 40p per mile where applicable
HOURS OF WORK
6 hours per week to be used flexibly on evenings or weekends.
TASKS CAN INCLUDE
- Taking me to local fields when the weather is nice to play some smaller activities and summer games which I have at the house.
- Going swimming at local pools.
- Going to local parks with me to play football, basketball or any other outdoor activity.
- Playing darts, pool or bowling with me. When playing darts someone who can help teach me maths would be a bonus.
- Ensuring my safety when out in the community.
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
- A person who can use their own initiative and think of new things to do when we go out.
- Someone who can keep me occupied when out. This might involve changing game often or trying new things.
- Someone who will not take offence when I am inappropriate.
- A car driver is preferably.
- A reliable and punctual person.
