A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I am happy, loving and energetic 5 year old boy living in the Llandaff North area of Cardiff. I am non-verbal and I have ASD, GDD and pica. I have no awareness of danger when out and could run off at any time. I will need someone to keep a close eye on me to ensure my safety at all times.
My mood can go from 0-100 within seconds if I am upset or overwhelmed due to not being able to communicate my needs verbally.I like going to the park, trampoline parks, soft play and ALN sessions. I like looking at my books in my cosy corner and playing with toys at home.
Purpose of the job
Main reason is to go out on weekends with someone new locally to a park. To help me with my separation anxiety and build confidence away from my mum. My mum also needs respite.
HOURS OF WORK
Term time: once a week every week
Sunday 12:30-3:30 (3hrs)
Non term time: twice a week every week
Wednesday 13:00-16:00 (3hrs)
Saturday 13:00-16:00 (3hrs)
RATE OF PAY
£14.70 per hour.
TASKS INVOLVED
- Keep me safe as I am a high flight risk and unaware of my surroundings
- Have fun and play with me
- Dressing/undressing and personal care (nappy changes)
- Encourage me to eat
- Not leaving me unattended in my adapted buggy when out and about and making sure I\’m strapped in properly
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
- A fun, happy, loving, caring, reliable and trustworthy female
- Someone who is calming and won\’t get stressed easily.
- You\’ll need to able to keep up with me as I am strong and fast for my age.
- Experience with ALN/ASD required and shadowing by old Private carer will be arranged.
- Ideally someone who drives and has access to a car with a clean licence should I need be transported somewhere.
