A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a sixteen year old girl from the Rhondda, Treorchy area who likes to have fun and keep busy. I enjoy arts and crafts, swimming, cadets and attending after school clubs. I like my routine. I do have pet rabbits. I have autism, ADHD and learning disability. I’m generally quite calm but can be vocal if something goes wrong; over time when I get to know someone I’m more relaxed.

PURPOSE OF JOB

The purpose of this job is to enable me to attend fitness sessions in the evening. The sessions are usually 18:00 and finish at 20:30. I like to sing in the car especially when listening to all types of music. It is important I keep a regular routine, as I don’t like change in plans.

PLACE OF WORK

In the local area of Rhondda Cynon Taff

HOURS OF WORK

5 hours a week term time
8 hours per week non-term time which are flexible, advanced notice will be given on what days required.

RATE OF PAY

£13.00 per hour with mileage allowance where appropriate

TASKS INVOLVED

  • Accompany me to fitness classes every twice a week in the evening
  • Encourage me to engage and participate in all activities
  • Picking me up and dropping me off
  • Remind me to go to the toilet
  • Going swimming on occasions
  • Going to the park for walks

  • Someone who’s reassuring, firm but fair.
  • Someone who’s positive and calm.
  • Experience of ASD preferred
  • Experience of children with learning difficulties.
  • Someone reliable and flexible.
  • Driving licence and own car essential with business class insurance.

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly and appropriate holiday pay given. The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority). The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK.
