A Little About Myself

I am a very lively and bubbly 7-year-old boy living in the Penygraig area. I love fun and silly activities, I enjoy 1:1 interaction, I have lots of interests and hobbies including watching alphabet songs on the TV and on my iPad. I also attend Fuze weekly, Polar Bear Swimming lessons and enjoy going to role play lane. I like going outside to the beach and for walks. I also have a playroom so you can play with me in the house as my mammy can help my older brother.

I have Autism, Global Development Delay, and sensory processing Disorder and suspected pica. I am non-verbal but will communicate through sounds and gestures, I can make sounds to some of my favourite songs. I don’t like loud noises. I like my own space as sometimes things get too much for me, I can get overstimulated. I don’t see any danger around me or to myself; I will need high levels of supervision as I put things in my mouth that shouldn’t go in there. I love to play but will need supervision as I fall over (flat-footed, and low muscle tone) sometimes and tend to run off if you don’t hold my hand I will run out onto the road.

I need to be in a car seat when I’m in your car I can kick out at the seat if it’s too loud in the car. I like to have something to play with in the car like strings or mammy has used a bobble before. Mammy puts me behind the passenger seat as no one sits there. I do pull hair and climb up you to gain attention. I need meaningful interactions and supervision for me to feel calm and feel safe. I am incontinent and wear nappies so I will need changing if we are out in the community at any time. Mammy is happy for people to job share if hours are a problem.

Purpose of the Job
