A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF I am a 16-year-old boy living in the Llantrisant area with my parents. I have ADHD, ASD and speech & language disability. I am funny and have a good sense of humour. I enjoy going to the cinema, bowling and trampoline parks. I enjoy watching planes and racing cars on YouTube. I like being outdoors for moderate walks, on bike rides and I enjoy travelling by car and on public transport.

PLACE OF WORK The main purpose of the job is to accompany me to places I enjoy, whilst ensuring my safety at all times.

HOURS OF WORK 3 hours per week – on the weekends.

RATE OF PAY Meets NLW plus 45p per mile for the required journeys we make together in your car.

TASKS INVOLVED:

  • Talking to me and building up a good trusting relationship;
  • Supporting me to go out and do things socially;
  • Accompanying me out for walks / exercise;
  • Trips to the cinema, bowling etc;
  • Support me with handling money;
  • Ensuring my safety is priority at all times.

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED:

  • A good sense of humour is important, reliable, trustworthy, flexible and have patience;
  • Mature attitude, calm and energetic;
  • Non-smoker;
  • A driver with own car and business class insurance;
  • Experience of working with children with ADHD/Autism is preferred.

ABOUT THE JOB This post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS check. Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly on receipt of a payslip from Dewis Centre for Independent Living. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to attend any training that is identified as necessary.
