A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I’m a 42 year old woman living in Barry with my partner. I experience anxiety and depression and sometimes experience social stressors. I love listening to all kinds of music and watching soaps on the TV, I also like watching documentaries too. I like going to bingo when I can. I am an easy going person who likes to have a laugh. I like going for walks, for example around the Knapp and going for a quiet coffee.
PURPOSE OF JOB
I would like to employ a personal assistant who can support me and encourage me to access the community and help me manage certain aspects of personal budgeting and offer me emotional support when I am feeling low. I would also like someone to assist me with going to appointments.
HOURS OF WORK
6 hours per week, weekdays only, 2 x 3 hour shifts. Flexibility is essential should these days need to change.
RATES OF PAY
£15.25 per hour, 40p mileage when you use your car.
TASKS WILL INCLUDE
- Help to increase engagement in meaningful activity, particularly active pursuits
- Going out for walks in the local community
- Assistance to further develop confidence and abilities to access the community independently
- Help to further develop management of personal finances – including budgeting
- Help to further develop coping strategies
- Using your car to take us to activities further afield
- Going for a nice drive, followed by a coffee

ABOUT THE JOB
This position is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS Disclosure (Police Check), which must be completed prior to the commencement of employment. The cost of this check will be covered by the Local Authority. All necessary checks will be conducted to verify that any candidate has the legal right to work in the UK before employment begins. Although this is a part-time role, it is a legitimate position requiring the submission of a National Insurance number. Employment will commence under an initial trial period. Wages will be paid on a four-weekly basis and appropriate holiday pay will be provided.
