Part-Time Personal Assistant
A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I am a 24-year-old male residing independently in the Barry area with my two dogs. I can drive and have access to my own vehicle. I have many interests including Italian culture and history, dogs, music, reading, gardening, painting, poetry, and listening to podcasts. I have diagnoses of Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), anxiety and depression meaning that accessing the community to engage in meaningful activities and with socialisation can be challenging. Because of this I tend to isolate myself from others when my mental health is poor.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
This support should focus on socialisation through supporting me to engage in meaningful activity in the community, anxiety management, and developing routine and structure.
HOURS OF WORK
Minimum 4 hours per week, potentially more on occasion. Flexible on the time and days of support.
RATES OF PAY
£14.25 per hour, 40p mileage when you use your car.
TASKS WILL INCLUDE
- Supporting me to engage in meaningful activity
- Providing guidance and reassurance when needed
- Supporting me to develop routines and structure
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
- A laid-back, easy going individual who doesn’t mind dogs and walking
- Proactive in situations and able to problem solve on your own initiative
- An individual who can listen and provide emotional support and reassurance especially when I am anxious
- Patience is essential
- You must be flexible, understanding that shifts, days and times may change with short notice
- A car owner/driver who is willing to use their car for work purposes/take me on outings
ABOUT THE JOB
This position is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS Disclosure (Police Check), which must be completed prior to the commencement of employment. The cost of this check will be covered by the Local Authority. All necessary checks will be conducted to verify that any candidate has the legal right to work in the UK before employment begins. Although this is a part-time role, it is a legitimate position requiring the submission of a National Insurance number. Employment will commence under an initial trial period. Wages will be paid on a four-weekly basis and appropriate holiday pay will be provided.
