I am looking for a kind, reliable, and patient Personal Assistant to support me in my home and, when possible, accompany me to the golf club.

Responsibilities

  • Prompt and assist with personal care (showering, oral hygiene, dressing)
  • Prompt with medication
  • Prepare a light meal (e.g., sandwich)
  • Check the fridge for out-of-date items while I am washing
  • Provide companionship and social interaction
  • Accompany me to the golf club once a week (likely Fridays)
  • Assist with light practical tasks as time allows
  • Ensure my safety and wellbeing at all times

Person Specification

  • Have an understanding of dementia
  • Be kind, patient, and reliable
  • Have a good sense of humour and enjoy friendly banter
  • Driver required with business class insurance

About the job

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid four weekly and appropriate holiday pay given. The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).

8.5 hours per week. Daily support required (excluding Wednesdays). Approximately 1 hour per day, around lunchtime.

Rate of Pay

£15.20 per hour
