The predicted salary is between 30000 - 30000 £ per year.
To encourage and promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation by engaging in relaxed dialogue and reminiscence. To ensure that I maintain regular fluids and diet. To assist me with preparation of food and drink on days where I need more help. To remind me to take medication if this has not been taken at an earlier carer visit. To encourage me to maintain my independence as far as possible, 13 hours in total which will be shared between two or more Personal Assistants. Ideally 1.5 - 2 hours Monday - Saturday around carer visits. Hours can be adjusted to suit the right applicant. Some flexibility would be advantageous.
Rate of Pay: £15.00 per hour
Tasks Involved:
- Keeping me company, sitting down and having a chat
- Preparing a meal or snack
- Provide assistance with personal care or assisting me to put on clean clothes if this has not been achieved during the earlier carer call
- Light domestic support around the home, for example assisting with laundry/ironing and on occasions changing and making bed, washing kitchen floor
- Occasional light shopping/collect medications from pharmacy
- Any other duties mutually agreed to assist with day to day living
Qualifications:
- Someone who is kind, patient and sensitive to the needs of someone with a memory impairment
- Honest, reliable and trustworthy
- Motivated
- Life experience and experience of working with older people and dementia would be advantageous
- Someone with a health care background would be advantageous but not essential
- Easy to talk to and get along with
- Interest in indoor/outdoor plants would be helpful
- Non-smoker (preferably)
- Flexible
- Car owner/driver but not essential
This position is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS Disclosure (Police Check), which must be completed prior to the commencement of employment. The cost of this check will be covered by the Local Authority. All necessary checks will be conducted to verify that any candidate has the legal right to work in the UK before employment begins. Although this is a part-time role, it is a legitimate position requiring the submission of a National Insurance number. Employment will commence under an initial trial period. Wages will be paid on a four-weekly basis and appropriate holiday pay will be provided.
