Dewey Group is actively seeking experienced Groundworkers with a strong background in kerbing, manhole construction, block paving, and general civil engineering works. These positions are to support a respected civil engineering contractor on a range of infrastructure and highways projects in the Barnsley area. We are currently recruiting for multiple roles and are keen to hear from individuals looking for either full-time employment or self-employed opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out high-quality groundworks, including kerb laying, manhole installation, and block paving.
- Support general civils operations such as drainage, concreting, and site preparation.
- Read and interpret technical drawings to ensure accurate and safe delivery of works.
- Maintain a safe and organised work environment in line with site health & safety procedures.
- Collaborate with site teams to meet project deadlines and specifications.
- Ensure proper use and care of tools, equipment, and PPE.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in groundworks, specifically in kerbing, drainage, manholes, and block paving.
- CSCS card (mandatory).
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Solid understanding of health & safety standards in a construction setting.
