Software Test Engineer Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the product management and development team to understand requirements and technical specifications.
  • Create test plans, test cases, and automation for new features and enhancements to existing features.
  • Plan, design and implement automation frameworks for various applications from front end to back end.
  • Conduct comprehensive black box QA testing for all applications.
  • Setup and monitor continuous integration for build, deploy and automated tests.
  • Work with support and implementation team to investigate production support issues and perform root cause analysis.

Help engineers and customer service representatives triage difficult bugs, build reproducible test cases and investigate complex issues.

  • Design and implement platform specific QA processes. Define test scenarios and own execution of tests prior to major feature releases.
  • Ensure 100% bug-free production releases.
  • Writing test scripts in Selenium for the manually tested module and maintaining the same.
  • Good Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Maven/Travis) for Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment process.
  • Must have working knowledge of API Testing and the API testing tool Postman.
  • Knowledge of Appium will be an added advantage.
  • Identifying corner cases based on design and product input in the planning phase.
  • Ensuring comprehensive testing for bugs for releases.
  • Expertise having built test automation framework for testing the REST API.

Software Test Engineer Requirements

Preferably a B. E./B. Tech./BCA/MCA.

  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance principles, methods and processes.
  • Solid understanding of mobile technologies and applications.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Significant experience designing and executing QA black box test conditions.
  • Experience with automated testing mechanisms.
  • Experience in manual + automated testing frameworks such as Selenium.
  • Experience testing and validating functionality, user flows and visual designs.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work in a fast-paced environment with quick turnaround.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.

1+ Years of experience in mobile application/Web testing.
