About the role: In order to build agentic applications, we need to be able to ingest, index and serve large volumes of data, enable agents and automations to fetch, reason, process user and system events as well as analyze and aggregate the data to unlock intelligence. We are looking for experienced engineering leaders who are passionate about building fast, reliable, and personalizable platforms, and can help their teams deliver customer delight.
As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of senior to early-career high-performing engineers tackling these challenges. You will be an engineer first — capable of designing and building alongside your team, while also driving technical direction, execution excellence, and team development. You will blend deep technical judgment with empathy for both engineers and customers, ensuring that our backend and frontend systems are elegant, scalable, and deliver measurable customer impact.
What You’ll Do
- Lead your team to design and build scalable, distributed backend systems and frontend components taking ownership of clarity and execution.
- Stay hands-on — contribute to architecture, design reviews, and implementation of critical components.
- Be accountable for customer delight, ensuring systems deliver performance, reliability, and simplicity at scale.
- Mentor and coach engineers to solve complex scalability, performance, and multi-tenancy challenges while growing technical depth and ownership.
- Drive technical excellence through distributed systems best practices, API-first design, and CI/CD to ensure high deployment velocity and reliability.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across engineering, product, sales, marketing, and customer success to incorporate customer and market needs, align priorities, and drive clarity.
What You’ll Need
- 10–15 years software engineering experience in large-scale distributed systems.
- 5+ years leading teams delivering high-performance, reliable, multi-tenant SaaS backends with frontend components.
- Expertise in defining clean interfaces, distributed systems, databases, message buses (Kafka preferred), and modern cloud-native architectures (Kubernetes, Docker, Serverless).
- Proficiency in Go (preferred), Java, or Python.
- Demonstrated ability to balance technical strategy with execution excellence.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience mentoring senior engineers and fostering a culture of ownership and learning.
- BS/MS in Computer Science or related field.

- Deep understanding of performance tuning and optimization in high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems.
- Experience leading teams building GenAI agentic reasoning engines that leverage memory, skills, and tools for complex task completion.
